About Jackson Morris

Like many American photographers in my age range, my journey in photography began with the family Kodak Brownie. My interest in the female figure began soon after at about age 11 with unrestricted access to my mother’s copy of Drawing The Female Figure and to her drawing materials. I can see the peach-colored cover of the book in my mind’s eye to this day.

Pursuing education, raising a family and 50 years of law practice have distracted my attention from serious photographic activities for all purposes other than recording family events and vacation, even though I maintained a wet darkroom and good equipment throughout most of my married life.

Exposure in recent years to the Northern New Mexico landscape – especially its amazing geology – sparked a need to begin photographing with serious intent. This exposure, combined with easy association with professional photographers and access to instructional resources in Santa Fe, rekindled my interest in the female figure as a complement to and element within the landscape. I am not alone in this pursuit, as many photographers, both living and dead, have sought to combine elements of the natural world with nude figures, both female and male. I am fortunate to have made the acquaintance of a number of these photographers who reside in Santa Fe and who pass through with regularity to teach workshops.

As my photographic projects demonstrate, however, my interest in images is not limited to inclusion of the female form, but extends to other aspects of geology and flora in the most southern of the Rocky Mountains. I have also taken my interest in the female figure in natural settings into Florida landscapes.

This is a personal journey I am pleased to share in my website with family and friends. My images are available for purchase, if you can’t resist. Please use the “Contact Jackson” page to inquire. Also, use the contact page to learn more about opportunities for modeling.

Thank you for visiting my website. Return often to view my new images.
